4iG to become anchor investor in Axiom Space
The transaction marks a milestone in Hungarian-U.S. space industry relations and reinforces 4iG’s position in the global commercial space sector.
- 4iG Space and Defence Zrt. (4iG SDT) signed a definitive investment agreement with Axiom Space Inc. (Axiom Space), one of the leading privately-owned companies in the commercial space industry of the United States.
- Under the agreement, 4iG SDT commits to carry out a two-step investment in the U.S. space company totalling 100 million USD; 30 million by December 31, 2025, and 70 million by March 31, 2026.
- The agreement represents a historic step in the space research and industry cooperation between Hungary and the United States. This is the first time a Hungarian company is investing in a U.S. space firm, thereby playing a key role in the space research ecosystem and the development of commercial space infrastructure in low Earth orbit (LEO).
- The agreement will help ensure a long-term presence in the global commercial space sector and establishes direct links for 4iG Space and Defence to the space-based data economy as well as industrial and R&D programs conducted in microgravity environments.
- The investment aligns with the 4iG Group strategy to become a leading international player in space and defence technologies, while also supporting Axiom Space’s global growth path and strengthening its leadership position in the U.S. commercial space industry.
4iG Space and Defence Technologies joins Axiom Space development and growth plans as an investor, the capital market company
announced on the Budapest Stock Exchange website. As part of the transaction, 4iG’s Space and Defence holding company commits
to carry out a two-step investment in Axiom Space totalling 100 million USD – the first phase, 30 million USD by December
31, 2025, and the second, 70 million USD by March 31, 2026. The agreement becomes effective upon the completion of the first
investment tranche of the transaction.
The partnership is of historic significance for Hungarian-U.S. space research and industry cooperation by creating long-term
opportunities to expand the parties’ share in the global space market.
