The transaction has been completed: 4iG Group has acquired Netfone Telecom
- 4iG Telecommunications Holding Zrt., the entity overseeing 4iG Group’s telecommunications portfolio, signed a share purchase agreement in summer 2025 for the acquisition of a 99 percent stake in Netfone Telecom Telecommunications and Service Ltd., one of Hungary’s fastest-growing nationwide virtual mobile operators.
- The Hungarian Competition Authority approved the transaction in October 2025. Following the fulfilment of all legal and financial conditions precedent, the transaction was successfully completed today, transferring 99 percent ownership of Netfone Telecom to 4iG Telecommunications Holding.
- With this acquisition, 4iG Group further expands its customer base and strengthens its position in the Hungarian telecommunications market. Netfone Telecom Ltd., a Hungarian-owned company, serves 106,000 customers through a nationwide network of 400 sales partners and more than 200 reseller outlets.
- The change in ownership does not affect Netfone Telecom’s customers; all services will continue to be provided without alteration and under the existing brand name.
As published on the Budapest Stock Exchange, the acquisition grants 4iG Telecommunications Holding Zrt. a 99 percent stake
in the nationwide virtual mobile operator. The integration of Netfone Telecom brings a customer-centric, efficiently operated
service provider into 4iG Group’s telecommunications portfolio.
With more than a decade of industry experience, 106,000 customers and a nationwide reseller network of 200 outlets, Netfone
Telecom creates new opportunities for service development.
In recent years, Netfone Telecom Ltd. has become a defining player in the domestic MVNO market, offering its own-branded SIM
cards, competitive tariff packages, and digitally optimised customer experience primarily for private individuals and small
enterprises.
Following the acquisition, Netfone Telecom Ltd. will continue to operate as an independent company. 4iG Group – through the
wholesale services of One Hungary – will provide the network infrastructure, technology capabilities, and financial stability
required for operations. The transaction does not affect Netfone Telecom customers, who will continue to access the services
in their current form and under the existing brand.
