Gellért Jászai, Chairman of 4iG Group, became Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

On the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, the President of the Republic of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok, has appointed Jászai Gellért as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary responsible for the development of international business relations of Hungary. The mandate of the Chairman of 4iG is to promote Hungarian economic interests internationally, to seek further investment opportunities, and to develop international relations between Hungarian and international businesses.

As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for the development of international business relations, Gellért Jászai 's work will be supervised the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. On his role Gellért Jászai is:

  • exploring foreign investment opportunities and conducting related business negotiations, including the preparation of agreements,
  • the establishing and strengthening international business relations of Hungarian enterprises, as well as support their operation,
  • endorsing trade and foreign economic strategy of Hungary, and
  • enhancing the competitiveness of Hungarian enterprises by promoting the development of foreign investment relations.

Gellért Jászai, majority owner and Chairman of 4iG, is an important businessperson in Hungary. He has significant experience in international and domestic capital investment, as well as in telecommunications and infocommunications. The 50-year-old businessman started his career in real estate development, tourism, and venture capital in the 2000s. Later he became involved in the transformation and reorganisation of companies listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange. In 2018, the businessman took over the management of 4iG Plc. and within a few years he became the company's main shareholder. Under Gellért Jászai's leadership, 4iG Group has grown to become one of the most important players in the Hungarian infocommunications and telecommunications market. The Group provides integrated information technology and telecommunications services in Hungary and the Western Balkans. The company is involved in the aerospace and defence industry, as well as in the high-tech industry.

Over the past five years, 4iG Group has implemented a growth strategy that developed to the breaking into the international market. Following a number of domestic and international acquisitions, 4iG has become a major business player not only in Hungary but in the Western Balkans as well. The Group's most significant acquisition, the transaction of Vodafone Hungary in 2023, has made 4iG one of the largest market players in the Hungarian telecommunications sector. The company engaged in a strategic partnership with Rheinmetall, the German defence giant acquired 25% stake in 4iG. The involvement of one of the world's leading defence companies in the domestic infocommunications sector, the successfully completed acquisitions in the Western Balkans, and the partnerships with US and global aerospace and technology companies, has taken the group, managed by Gellért Jászai, to the international business world.

The achievements of 4iG Group have played a significant part in the strengthening of Hungarian economic ties and the enhancement of international reputation. Gellért Jászai's appointment as Ambassador does not affect his role and position at 4iG Group.
